Welcome to RadioStar.FM

Greetings and salutations. Welcome to RadioStar, a listener-supported, non-commercial, free-form internet radio station launched on March 3, 2013. The programming ranges from flat-out uncategorizable strangeness to rock and roll, experimental music, jazz, psychedelia, hip-hop, electronica, dance, punk rock, synthpop, exotica, R&B, radio improvisation, chamber music, stoner rock, found sound, soundtracks, country, as well as audience-participation shows, interviews, spoken word collages, and general talk. All of the station's programming is controlled by individual volunteer broadcasters and none is beholden to any type of station-wide playlist or rotation schedule.

Free-form is a radio programming format that encompasses and encourages diverse music genres because the volunteer broadcaster is given complete control over his or her program and what music is played. Because of this, the station's most distinguishing traits include variety, experimentation, spontaneity and humor. RadioStar does not belong to any existing internet radio network, and most of its programming originates with its volunteers. When a live program or podcast isn't on air, RadioStar will broadcast with our automated DJ system.

Be A Broadcaster!

We are always seeking volunteer broadcasters to join our growing team! We are looking for interactive individuals or teams with personality and excellent microphone and interpersonal skills. DJs must have an internet connection with a minimum 256k upload speed and a quality microphone. Some experience with broadcasting software is preferred but not necessary. What is absolutely necessary is the ability to put together your own show. Even though the Operations staff will assist you in developing your own unique program, this is YOUR show.

RadioStar provides the capability and experience of internet broadcasting to everyday online radio fans who want to experience the excitement of producing a music program or hosting their own special interest talk show. RadioStar will not create an entire concept for a program, but will offer helpful suggestions, information, and basic instruction; as well as assist with the many aspects of streaming a program onto the internet.
